Who operates QuarterReady

QuarterReady is an independent educational website operated by Danyal Ahmed. It is not part of HM Revenue & Customs, is not endorsed by HMRC and is not an accountancy practice. The public contact address is quarterready.contact@gmail.com.

The project exists because marketplace sellers often see several different numbers—orders, refunds, fees, reserves and net bank payouts—while the MTD start-date test refers to qualifying income on a Self Assessment return. QuarterReady is designed to explain that distinction without turning a small question into a sales call.

How the content and tools are built

  • Primary sources first. Rule pages link back to current GOV.UK, HMRC or legislation sources rather than relying on copied summaries.
  • Visible review dates. Guides show when their underlying sources were last checked so readers know when to verify an update.
  • Deliberately narrow calculations. The threshold checker stops on exemption, accounting-period and cessation questions it cannot safely resolve.
  • No hidden ranking deals. If commercial providers are added, commission will not be a hidden reason for recommending one route over another.
  • No invented expert review. A professional reviewer will be named only after that person has actually reviewed the relevant material.

The full calculation, sourcing and correction rules are published in the methodology.

What QuarterReady cannot do

QuarterReady cannot decide the correct figures for a tax return, determine an exemption, inspect marketplace records, register a person for MTD or replace advice from HMRC or a qualified professional. The browser-only tools use the answers entered on the device and do not send those figures to QuarterReady.

Educational information is not personal tax advice.

Tax treatment can depend on residence, accounting basis, VAT, multiple activities, property, partnerships, cessation, allowances and other facts a small public tool does not know.

How the project plans to earn money

QuarterReady is preparing applications to the eRank, Link My Books and Taxfix affiliate programmes. Product links are currently ordinary direct links and are not tracked, so QuarterReady earns nothing from them today. If an application is accepted, every tracked link and its surrounding commercial section will be labelled Ad before engagement, and non-commercial HMRC routes will remain visible.

Read the published commercial methodology for the exact labelling and ranking rules.

Corrections, professional review and contact

If a source has changed, a calculation is wrong or a paragraph could mislead a marketplace seller, email quarterready.contact@gmail.com with the page address and supporting source. Do not send tax records, Government Gateway credentials, marketplace exports, payment information or other sensitive documents.

Qualified UK bookkeepers, accountants and tax professionals who want to review a specific guide may use the same address. Review credit will describe the work actually performed; it will not imply HMRC endorsement.
