Quick verdict
Possible fit: a seller already using Xero or QuickBooks Online who repeatedly reconciles marketplace sales, refunds, fees, tax and payouts.
Skip it: if you use only a spreadsheet, need a complete accounting package, have very few transactions, or want software that independently sends every MTD for Income Tax submission.
Use the provider's no-card trial to reconcile one completed settlement. Do not subscribe merely because your marketplace appears in the integration list.
Where the connector fits
Link My Books currently publishes integrations for Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Shopify, TikTok Shop, Walmart, WooCommerce and Square. Its accounting destinations are Xero and QuickBooks Online. The provider says it syncs sales, refunds, fees and taxes and can post settlement entries to the connected accounting system.
This is most relevant when the manual task repeats often enough to justify another subscription. A small shop with occasional payouts may prefer to keep a documented manual workflow.
The complete stack still matters
- The marketplace supplies orders and settlements.
- Link My Books transforms and posts supported settlement data.
- Xero or QuickBooks remains the accounting system.
- The seller or adviser must still confirm the full digital-record, quarterly-update and year-end route required for their circumstances.
For an MTD decision, check the current functions of the complete stack through HMRC's software finder. HMRC does not endorse products.
What to test during the trial
The provider currently advertises a 14-day trial without a payment card and 90 days of settlement history. Test one settled period containing sales, refunds, fees and any relevant tax. Confirm the posted accounting entry agrees with the marketplace statement and bank payout before committing.
Important limitations
- You need a supported Xero or QuickBooks Online plan as well.
- Pricing varies by rolling order volume and number of connected sales channels; VAT is additional to displayed UK prices.
- The provider says an account can be upgraded automatically after notice if rolling order usage exceeds the plan limit.
- Historical data beyond the plan allowance can carry an extra cost.
- QuarterReady has not connected a real marketplace and accounting account, so this is not a hands-on review.
QuarterReady is not yet approved by Link My Books. This button goes directly to the provider's pricing page and currently produces no commission.
